Susan from Long Branch, New Jersey was cleaning her Holiday decorations and ran into a problem.

“I have a number of little liquor tags in sterling silver that hang around crystal decanters. I use Tarn-X ® Silver Polish on the tags, but I am not sure how to clean the small tarnished chains. Could I dip them in the jewelry cleaner? Thanks for your help and advice.”

Well Susan, our Tarn-X® Tarnish Remover does work on tarnish, but you would need to be careful with the chains. The tarnish remover, if not completely removed from the links, could dry and create a film. Prior to using Tarn-X, wash any dirt and grime off of the chains with hot soapy water. Rinse with cold water and wipe dry before using Tarn-X. While wearing rubber gloves, dip the chains in Tarn-X, rinse, wipe and the tarnish will disappear. After using Tarn-X, always remember to rinse immediately with cold water and hand dry with a soft cloth.
